Dash and Dart

A series of prose poems about two baby deer growing up. It's pretty factual. For the most part the deer don't have that many human-like characteristics. Some things I don't know if animals actually do, like when the mother deer hits them with her hooves when she's trying to get them to stop nursing, and they have to go out and figure out how to eat on their own, which I would expect the mother deer would need to teach them, but I don't know. It's pretty dated to have the big stag who is the "king of the forest" be named "Old Horny." Nobody would do that anymore.

They're mostly colorless sketches, with full-color spreads interspersed between them. It's just the deer growing up through the year and that's it. Pretty wordy. Pretty dated. Not bad, but not terribly interesting.
